Cedars of Lebanon State Park

 

This 1000 acre park is located in south Lebanon in a dense cedar forest. The park offers camping and cabins for rent, meeting facilities, picnicking, horseback riding, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, disc golf, lighted tennis courts and miles of hiking trails. Excursion Train

 

Throughout the year, the Tennessee Central Railway’s Excursion Train visits Watertown, Lebanon and Mt. Juliet. Trips include a wine train, re-enactments of a train robbery and murder mystery, as well as trips with the Easter Bunny and Santa. Visit www.tcry.org for a schedule of events and more information.

Lebanon Museum & History Center

 

Located in the lower level of City Hall, this 2,500 sq. ft. museum provides a visual tour of the city’s rich history broken down in to Native American, Early Settlement, Antebellum, Victorian and Modern Eras. The museum also features audio descriptions by famous residents, as well as touch screens and computers.

The Mill At Lebanon

This 200,000 square foot brick factory is an adaptive reuse development of the historic Lebanon Woolen Mills. Adjacent to the commuter rail station and one block off Lebanon’s Square, The Mill currently offers event space, a car museum, restaurants, retail space, a gymnastic studio and a church. Sellars Farm State Archaeological Area

 

During the Mississippian Period of Native American habitation in Tennessee, the Cumberland River Valley became the site of a cluster of fortified towns. One such town is now known as Sellars Farm inhabited from 1000 AD to 1300 AD.

At Sellars Farm, a walking tour of the site takes you through the area while learning about the inhabitants. An interpretive kiosk marks the beginning of the tour. Fiddlers Grove Historic Village

 

See what life was like at the turn of the century in Wilson County. The Village consists of nearly 50 original and replicated buildings, including a one-room schoolhouse, a working blacksmith shop, church, jail, grist mill and more! The Stringtown General Shop is a functioning gift and refreshment shop and the starting point for tours of the Village.

Long Hunter State Park

 

Long Hunter State Park is situated along the shore of J. Percy Priest Lake. It consists of four units: Couchville, Baker's Grove, Bryant Grove and Sellar's Farm. Picnicking, swimming, hiking, backpacking, boating, fishing, nature photography and wildlife observation are among the activities available to park visitors.

Planned activities include interpretive and recreation programs for the general public and environmental education programs for school and other interested groups.

Wilson County Museum

 

Also known as The Fessenden House, the Wilson County Museum was given to the Historical Association of Wilson County by Sallie Fessenden in March of 1983. The museum serves as a place to preserve the area's heritage and to represent the tracks of those who have passed through, giving direction to the future generations to follow. Admission is free, however, donations are appreciated. Please call ahead.
